Hello Everyone.In my previous blog, we discussed about the essential oils good for hair. Today, I will talk about the FOODS IMPORTANT FOR HEALTHY HAIR, foods which help promote hair growth.

Healthy, strong, shiny and frizz free hair is everyone’s dream and it’s important that besides applying essential oils/carrier oils,we need to focus on our diet as well. In fact maintaining a healthy diet is significant as our hair require a regular supply of key nutrients. Below are the essential food items that should be mandatory in your diet.

EGGS

Protein is the most important component for strong healthy hair. So, its vital to incorporate an adequate amount of protein daily in your diet. Eggs are an excellent source of proteins. Consuming low amount of proteins can cause hair loss plus dry and brittle hair.

Vegetarians can substitute eggs with nuts or legumes (beans, lentils, peas and peanuts).

GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES

Green Leafy Vegetables (Spinach, Lettuce etc.) are a rich source of Iron. Apart from Proteins, our hair requires an essential amount of minerals as well in the form of Iron. If your diet is low on Iron, proper nutrients will not get transported to the hair roots and follicles properly leading to hair fall. If possible, have vegetable juice daily consisting of Carrots, Amla, Spinach, Coriander, Ginger etc. Trust me, you are gonna notice an improvement in your hair quality within 2-3 weeks.

VITAMIN C

Vitamin C rich food helps in better absorption of Iron. The best sources of Vitamin C are Blueberries, Broccoli, Guava, Kiwi, Oranges, Papaya, sweet potatoes, Lime etc.

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS

Omega-3 fatty acids are important fats that nourishes the hair and helps promote strong and thick hair. Fish, walnuts, almonds are some of the rich source of omega-3.

FOODS RICH IN VITAMIN (A, B & E) AND BIOTIN

These vitamins are quite essential for strong hair and helps reduce hair fall. Carrots, Avocado, whole grains, fish etc. are rich source of vitamins and biotin.

NOTE: If you are suffering from bad hair days, get vitamin and iron tests done. Deficiency of these can lead to hair shedding. Always Remember – A healthy diet can help solve your hair problems.
