The story started with a vision of transforming a dream into reality; a dream of doing something extraordinary. This story is of Mr. Deepak Tanwar (born 7 January 1994) who proved the quote “I’d rather attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed” right. From boxing ring to Anurag Kashyap’s Movie Mukkabaaz, Deepak has already made it ‘LARGE’.
Deepak Tanwar (born in Bhiwani, Haryana) always spotted his cousin, who is a boxer as well. When Deepak’s cousin won a championship in Russia and came back to India with the medal and got VIP treatment, with all that respect, recognition and blessings from the country; Deepak’s dream got the medium to reach the destination. That was the point when he decided that he will go for boxing and that is the right career for him.
Deepak’s parents were against his decision and always disapproved the same, due to the fear of injury. With a burning desire, he used to watch planes flying over his terrace; the desire to travel overseas to spread the name of his country all over the world. Deepak used to adore the athletes who used to travel wearing those official Indian Jerseys with INDIA written on it.
For Deepak his parent’s permission was most important to make his next move, so he started asking for the same. Simultaneously he started collecting money for his boxing kit as it is mandatory to stay safe while practicing. Father started supporting and appreciating and finally Deepak started living his dream and got a great start. The family was happy and relatives started supporting him.
Everything was on track when the tables were turned for Deepak and he got injured in 2010. Due to his injury, Deepak missed his professional training; his “Never Give Up” attitude kept him going. Deepak’s mother asked him not to lose hope and keep fighting because this is the time to face the challenges to understand the real value of happiness.
At the end of 2010 he finally got the competition to fight which eventually gave a good kick start to his career in 2011. This is when his hunger for success fueled his passion to win gold for India.
Deepak Tanwar is now an Indian professional boxer. The Super Boxing League Season 1 fans know him well as he was the captain of Maratha Yoddhas. Winning his four out of five fights gave a drastic jump to his team in Season 1 of Super Boxing League. Becoming a champion in Season 1 to winning consecutive gold medals at 2011 and 2012 Youth National Championship is among his achievements.
Deepak started his boxing career at the age of 10 years when the kids do not even give a thought to career. With a vision of doing something good in favor of the nation, his interest in boxing became his passion and very soon in 2006 he got selected for the Army Sports Institute in Pune, where he got immense exposure as he learnt a lot from his trainers and seniors. After 2 years of joining the Army Sports Institute he won his first gold medal in junior national championship in Assam.
He bagged lots of achievements in his boxing career. Played 4 professional fights and won all of them, Team captain of the Maratha Yoddhas in Super Bowling League Season 1 and won 4 out of 5 fights to become the champion of season 1.
The list of the medals he won is quite long though:
Gold in Junior National Championship, 2008.
Silver in All India Super Cup, 2010.
Gold in Youth National Games, 2011.
Gold in Youth National Games, 2012.
Quarter finalist in Senior Tammer Cup, Finland, 2012
Fought for professional circuit, 2015.
Finally all the hard work and dedication paid him well in 2017. Deepak Tanwar debuted in a Anurag Kashyap’s movie Mukkabaz with Vineet Singh. He thinks himself as a lucky person who got exposure in a movie based on his passion itself. According to him the most emotional moment was to gift his parents and grandmother a chance to watch the movie for the first time; that too when their own son is performing in the movie. More over working in the movie brought his childhood friends Amit Yadav, Sachin Sharma back in his life.
Millionaires Core is feeling proud to publish Deepak Tanwar’s success story. We wish him all the success in the world.
